Nightlife in Rome

Rome isn't a party city like Barcelona, London or Lisbon, for example. And what nightlife there is often starts late –first you have to enjoy a long dinner, have a coffee and then ideally hang out at a few bars. The most nightlife –and also the most fun and least expensive –can be found in the district of Testaccio, with its many bars and clubs.

Bar part Fico. This is where all the people in Rome who love to see and be seen go. Piazza del Fico 26/28.

 

Ombre Rosse. Perfect before dinner or going clubbing in Trastevere. Piazza Sant'Egidio 12.

 

Riccioli Café. Oyster bar, restaurant, wine and drinks. Via delle Coppelle 13.

 

Shaki. Elegant bar at Piazza di Spagna, with drinks and lots of delicious wines by the glass. Via Mario de Fiori 29/a.

 

Stravinski Hotel de Russie. Romans and tourists in a glorious crowd in this popular hotel bar. Via del Babuino 9, behind Piazza del Popolo.

Akab. Disco and live bands in an old factory in Testaccio. Via Monte.

 

Alibi. One of many hip 'n' happening discos at Via di Monte Testaccio (no. 39).

 

Alien. Cool young club not far from Piazza Fiume. Garage and House. Via Velletri 13/19.

 

Art Café. The favourite of football idols and models. Via del Galoppatoio 33, near to Piazza di Spagna.

 

Ex Magazzini. Bar, disco and event, all in one. Via dei Magazzini Generali 8, Ostiense.

 

Sweet. The in crowd go there to be seen. At the Repart Café hotel in Trastevere.

Supperclub. Dinner like in ancient Rome (reclining at the table), dancefloor, drinks. Via De' Nari 14/15.

 

Bella Blu. Elegant and not too loud for adult night owls. Via Luigi Luciani 21. g.

 

Jonathan's Angels. Classic, kitschy (don't miss the unique toilet), often live bands. Via della Fossa 16.
