Nightlife in Prague

Beer, beer, beer

Many people think that the world’s best beers are brewed in the Czech Republic. Not least the Czechs themselves think this, drinking down, as they do, more beer than any other country - 160 litres per person/year. The other questions is whether there is anywhere else which has as many places in which to drink beer as Prague. From the dozens of large beer halls to 8,000 pubs. Which will be your favourite? Staropramen, Gambrinus, Budvar, Pilsner Urquell or one of the country’s many varieties of beer? One thing worth knowing: when it says 10o or 12o on the bottle, that does not mean the alcohol content or the temperature that the beer should be served at. 10o is on a par with medium-strong beer and 12o is slightly weaker than strong beer. The price? Anything up to €1 for half a litre, depending on the establishment and its whereabouts in the city.

At U Vejvodu you can get good food and many beers at a good price..
