Getting around in Malmö

It's easy to get about in Malmö. In the city centre, most things are within walking distance – particularly since Metro Travel's hotel is close to most things, and there's also a pedestrianised zone past most shopping, food and leisure activities.

By air

From Sturup, there are buses into town - the trip takes about half an hour. From Copenhagen Airport/Kastrup, take the train through the tunnel and over the Öresund Bridge to Malmö Central; that also takes about half an hour.

Trains

The Central Station is located in the heart of the city. Hub for many bus routes.

By car

Most hotels have their own car parks, or large public car parks nearby.

By bus

The buses are green, and you get on them through the door at the front. They operate all over the city. You can buy tickets from the driver. SEK 15 (single). SEK 200 for a discount card offering a discount of 20 %.

The large number of bus routes make getting about in Malmö a breeze.

In just half an hour, the train will take you via the Öresund Bridge and tunnel to central Copenhagen.

If you want to visit Copenhagen

There are regular trains from Malmö Central to the Central Station in Copenhagen (and often further on along the coast, northwards towards Louisiana and Helsingør). The no. 999 bus departs every hour, Monday-Saturday from Gustav Adolfs torg to central Copenhagen.
