By air
Heathrow: 32 km (20 miles) to the city centre. The fast Heathrow Express train takes 15-20 minutes to get to Paddington Station. The underground is the cheapest way of getting into London, about 50 minutes into London via the Piccadilly Line. The airport bus takes about 40 minutes. Taxis in to central London cost around £ 40.
Gatwick: 45 km (just over 30 miles) to the city centre. The fast Gatwick Express train takes approx. 30 minutes to get to Victoria Station. Also goes to other stations. The airport bus takes around 1.5 hours to get to Victoria Station. Taxis cost around £ 70.
Stansted: 56 km (35 miles) to the city centre. The Stansted Express train service takes 45 minutes to reach Liverpool Street Station. Taxis to central London cost around £ 80.
By train
The largest stations are Waterloo and Paddington. Most mainline stations are centrally located, with good communications to the rest of the city.

Bus
The red, double-decker busses are a smooth and reliable way of getting about. But hurry up – the double-deckers make there way out of the traffic little by little. By a bus map at tourist information. Bus number 11 is just for sightseeing only and goes past sights such as Trafalgar Square and St. Paul's Cathedral.

Underground - The Tube
The “tube" is the fastest way to get around London. There are 12 lines in total. You can find god underground maps at all stations.

Taxis
The easiest thing to do is wave down a taxi in the street – you will see by its yellow TAXI sign if the taxi is free. Smaller minicabs are competing with the traditional taxis. You can even order a taxi via Zingo 08700-700 700.

Boats
There are plenty of ways to see London from the river Thames. Departure points include Embankment and Westminster Pier.
