Linnanmäki

Helsinki’s popular amusement park in the centre of the city. A mix of cool rides and family-friendly entertainment, popcorn and candy floss. Free admission to the Linnanmäki area itself, with wrist strap and tickets for the attractions.

Linnanmäki has rides for all ages.

Linnanmäki’s fantastic toy and play museum

Finland’s most popular specialist museum. There are treasures from old attics, yesterday’s old favourites and a miniature model of Linnanmäki.

Linnanmäki’s toy museum is great fun for children, and adults can revisit toys from their generation.

Sea Fortress of Suomenlinna

The old fortress with its towers and cannon openings gets the imagination going and provides a living insight into history. There is also a toy museum and the Vesikko, a 250-ton submarine from the Second World War.

Suomenlinna is one of the “adult attractions” that usually also entertains the children.

Högholmen

Helsinki Zoo with animals ranging from the Arctic tundra to the tropical rain forest. The vivaria hold snakes, lizards and insects, and birds fly freely. Arctic animals like the arctic fox, Finnish forest reindeer, snowy owl and musk ox live outdoors all the year round.

Sea Life

Make an exciting visit to the sea world. Travel through the tropical waters to the cold North Sea and the Baltic. There is also a chance to meet animals face to face in interactive experiences. Tivoligränd 10, Linnanmäki.

At Sea Life you will meet everything from prawns and starfish to sharks and rays.

Heureka

Science centre where the children can discover things for themselves through interactive play and experiments – and find out that science is great fun. The Verne Theatre shows exciting films in super-format. Tikkurila Station.

At Heureka there is nothing “you can’t touch” – you are encouraged to try things for yourself.

LEGO Show Helsinki

Did you know that Helsinki has its own Lego Park? Exhibition with LEGO figures from, among others, Star Wars and Harry Potter. Lots of building fun and games.

The popular LEGO Show Helsinki is open May-August.

Serena Park is a must for children and young people who like swimming.

Baden

Serena Park. Europe’s biggest water park, partly blasted into a mountain, partly outdoors. Terrific adventures for foolhardy men as well as gentler water slides. Approx 25 km outside Helsinki – take bus no 339 from the railway station.

Beaches. Warm, sunny days to enjoy in Helsinki with its one hundred kilometres of beach and more than 300 islets. Find out more under Sport in Helsinki!

Fun museums

Akvaariolinna. Aquarium with crocodiles, sea horses, piranhas, moray eels and rays.

Natural History Museum. See 3.5 billion years of evolution on earth! Animals in natural environments. Rautatiekatu 13.

Old-fashioned farm or laser games?

Fallkulla Animal Park. Let the children get to know animals in a traditional farm setting: sheep, goats, pigs, cows, hens, ducks, geese and horses.

Megazone Laser Games. The city’s coolest laser games. At Paasikiviplatsen.

At Falkulla you can share in the work on the farm.
