Getting around in Gothenburg

While almost all other towns in Sweden have decommissioned their tramlines, trams are still used on a daily basis by many locals in Gothenburg to get to work, football matches, pubs and clubs, etc.

Flights

From Landvetter airport, buses leave every 15 minutes for Lisebergsstationen, Avenyn, Korsvägen and the Nils Ericsson terminal at the Central Station. From Gothenburg City Airport, buses go to the Nils Ericsson terminal at the Central Station.

Trains

The Central Station is at the heart of the city. Hub for a range of bus and tram lines.

Driving

Most hotels have their own car parks, or large public car parks nearby.

Getting around in Gothenburg

The easiest way to get about is by tram or bus. Route maps, timetables, etc. can be found at www.vasttrafik.se. The fact that Gothenburg is a harbour city can be seen in the names of the stops for the no. 32 bus: Älvsborgshamnen, Skandiahamnen, Sydatlanten, Indiska Oceanen…

Göta Älv

If you have to cross or travel along Göta Älv, take a boat: Älvsnabben or Älvsnabbare.
